Didn’t Mercury just come out of retrograde? Or are you making it up? No, you’re not. The reason why it feels like Mercury’s always in and out of retrograde is because it’s so close to the Sun. It takes the earth 365 days to orbit the Sun while Mercury takes only 88 days. You can sort of think of it as dog years. Four years for Mercury is one year for you and me. Mercury retrogrades also come in threes i.e. Mercury turns retrograde three times a year – which is more than any other planet. Mercury also retrogrades only in signs of the same element for that year. For instance Mercury only turned retrograde in air signs for 2022. This is helpful because knowing the elements ahead of time helps us determine what area of our lives will be impacted.
