It isn’t easy working closely with people who hold your future in their hands, but if anyone knows how to maintain grace under pressure: it’s you. In truth this isn’t the first time you’ve had to deal with someone who has this kind of influence. The trick is to be collaborative so that they gradually come over to your way of seeing things. Moreover it’s beginning to dawn on you that associations like these might not be so bad. What’s the point of independence when – with a smile here or a nod there – you can get what you want without ever exposing your hand?
