Men’s egos are wired differently than women’s. They’re much more hypersensitive and defensive. For instance women have no problem apologizing for a mistake whereas trying to get a man to cough out the words “I’m sorry” without resorting to waterboarding is nearly impossible. This is why it’s important to be supportive and welcoming on Wednesday when a penitent lover or spouse re-emerges from his man cave with his tail tucked between his legs. He knows that he did wrong, but don’t confront him with that or rub his nose in it. Be gentle, show positive encouragement, and he’ll cop to his crankiness before too long.
