Indeed with Ruling Planet Mercury forming its third and final square to Neptune (the previous squares were on November 27th and December 27th), you’re in danger of losing more than what you initially risked. One’s footing is always weakest when one’s Ruling Planet is transiting their opposite zodiac sign. Thankfully Mercury re-enters Capricorn on January 13th.
