You need to take a long hard look at why you’re so reluctant to push for a leadership position. You say that it’s because you don’t want the pressure and responsibility that comes with it, but is that the real reason? Chances are you’re dealing with more stress by being in the number two spot. The only way that you’re going to discover if you are cut out for this sort of thing is to step up to the plate and give it your best shot. Life comes with enough hurdles as is. You don’t want to be the obstacle to your own success.
