A CALL TO YOUR BETTER SELF
Whatever happened to decency? In a world where paying customers get dragged kicking and screaming off of airplanes and healthcare legislation is passed with an eye on the polls and a shrug to the population, it makes one wonder if there’s such a thing as a social contract anymore. Thankfully the Mars/Jupiter trine on May 12 will remind everyone that our welfare, happiness, and prosperity as a people comes from a feeling of being in it together rather than being in it for yourself. Maybe it materializes as coming to the rescue of somebody in need, sharing what you have with someone less fortunate, or shaming a delinquent company or agency into fulfilling their duty. A moral obligation isn’t something imposed upon you to make you feel guilty. A moral obligation is a call to your better self because the betterment of you is contingent on the betterment of others.
