Mars can be like a bratty kid when it doesn’t get its way. It rages against the authority that is either unable or unwilling to give it what it wants. The more things are withheld, the harder Mars will push. Saturn is seen as the unfeeling parent who wants to spoil everyone’s fun. It often feels misunderstood and underappreciated but called upon to make the hard decisions nobody else will. The more Saturn is pushed the more it will withhold. So where do you fall in this spectrum? It isn’t always easy to tell. One moment you can feel like a child who’s being condescended to in your relationship while the next you may be the parent who has to say no to a subordinate at work. These roles are more fluid than we think and perhaps a greater appreciation for this can lead us to demonize less and sympathize more with the other position. Truths are rarely flattering when Mars conjoins Saturn (April 2) but they are truths just the same.
