Are you really going to stop being friends because of his beliefs or politics? It’s a question of conscience that you will have to face this week. You knew you and a certain someone came from opposite sides of the aisle, but now circumstances are such that you really must address the elephant (or donkey) in the room. It would be easy if he was a racist or sexist, but he’s not. He just happens to believe differently than you. This could be a deal breaker, but it could also broaden your horizons and let you see him as a person instead of a caricature.
