WHAT’S MY LESSON?
On Sept. 13 Saturn squares the Sun for the last time before moving into Capricorn on Dec. 19. Saturn is the planet of trials and tribulations and after 2 ½ years of being tested in the areas of life that pertain to your moral values, higher purpose, and social conscience you can think of this last quarter as your final exam where everything gets summed up. Let’s face it. It’s hard to put your faith in a higher power when there’s so much going on in the world that’s negative and retrograde. Aleppo. Charlottesville. Buddhists killing Muslims in Myanmar. Saturn poses the question: is this about the absence of the experience of God or is it about experiencing the absence of God? Heavy questions, but then that’s Saturn in Sagittarius. Perhaps Saturn is getting us to shift our gaze away from the supernatural deity we hope is out there beyond the horizon to remembering that we were created in the image of something greater than ourselves and that it’s up to us to unearth the divinity within.
