You learned a long time ago the value of making yourself indispensible. Not only does it increase the likelihood of you never getting fired from your job, but people rely on you for your advice and guidance. They know that you know how to get things done. This allows you to set the agenda without anyone being the wiser. Some might say this is a tad manipulative and that might be true if you weren’t working so tirelessly for the better good of everyone involved. Your motives are sincere. It’s why you don’t feel the need to explain them to those whose motives aren’t.
