Mount your centaur, Sagittarius, because big shifts are afoot! You’ll look back on 2017 as a year of transition. You and your sturdy steed may be buffeted by the stiff winds of change this year, but you’re also being tested, purified and strengthened.

While you’ve been going about your daily life for the past eighteen months, you’ve been asked to shoulder far more than your fair share of responsibility. Very likely, this obligation centers around your extended family, your home or your property. All in addition to your usual full existence, of course. This long-term call to duty has been a drain on your personal time, resources and physical energy. And, it’s not over. In fact, it won’t be until December. Then and only then will conditions shift and you can finally put down your burden. You can be sure of various crises until then. In the meantime, your life seems a whole lot less fun than usual. You lack your usual spunk. Your energy is low, or you might even feel somewhat depressed. You may lose weight or just feel old, stiff and tired.

You can’t gracefully step away from your duties, but you CAN prioritize regular periods of self care and even indulgence. Acknowledge that it’s a hard year, and try to lighten up a little. But don’t overlook the most obvious source of help and support: your friends! They are in a position to give you a hand, at least until October 10. In fact, they’ll be flattered that you’re asking for help, and their assistance is going to surpass your expectation of them. So give them the opportunity to help you the way you’re helping others these days.

February and March are complicated and require careful negotiation. You’re ready to burst at the seams, and into this stew arrives an offer for some fun but risky adventure. Yes, it’s a time limited opportunity, but don’t be pressured into anything. It could prove costly in ways you don’t even know. Instead of saying “no” right away, buy yourself some time. If the proposal is right for you, it will be made clear to you by year’s end. Because this is a long term project, you should start gathering facts and data. Important research or information surfaces the first week of April which sheds new light on the project. It’s not a deal-breaker but does lead to important refinements and adjustments that improve conditions for you.

A change of tides comes in early June as things begin to shift in your favor. Slowly but surely the boat lifts and energy begins to drift back into your coffers. In August and September, you are uniquely positioned to further yourself professionally and in the eyes of the world. This can be an excellent time that brings you success and relevance in the “real world.” It seems that someone has noticed you toiling away, after all! You have a chance now to parlay that recognition into a promotion, a raise, a better office. Utilize this knowledge to your advantage by working during the first part of the year to position yourself to take advantage of these opportunities when they arise in the autumn! By the end of September, you can catapult yourself to an entirely new position!

The last few months of 2017 will feel deeper and quieter than usual, thanks to interlacing cosmic activity. Your Ruling Planet Jupiter spends about one year in each zodiac sign before moving on. Jupiter will change signs on October 10. That means certain changes for you, in this case, an internal need for more time alone, in private. Your soul demands some time for self reflection, sleep and recovery. The last week of October would be a particularly good time for you to schedule in a relaxing vacation or even a retreat if you are so inclined. It could be much more enlightening than you imagine.

This period of time also marks the last few weeks of Saturn’s 2.5 year sojourn through your sign of Sagittarius. It will move on to the next zodiac sign on December 17. Usually there is a pause and a reflection before such a boundary is crossed. Perhaps you can already appreciate that you are in many ways stronger and more muscular than you were two years ago. The long, regular effort you’ve put in has resulted in better endurance and increased effectiveness. You’re steely in ways you weren’t before. And you’ve accomplished more than you thought possible. Give yourself credit where credit is due!

A strange dream or unbidden mental image captures your attention in early December. Not alarming but unsettling. Your awareness is quickened to areas long submerged. Something is awakened in you, but in the rush of the holidays, it is quickly forgotten. Not for long, though; by next summer this will come rushing back into your memory accompanied by a profound sense of déjà vu.

Finally, prepare to be amused when Mercury goes retrograde in your sign from December 2 – 22. Computer glitches, lost calls and missed cues; all typical when the little Communication Planet goes haywire. It’s the big cosmic joke that ends the year. But don’t lose the light, Sadge. Nothing lasts forever. Onward and upward!
